ABOUT COACH ELIJAH
Elijah Landell was born and raised in Shelton, NE. He grew up working in the family business, Landell-Thelen, the local John Deere dealership. He began working there at the age of 12 and continued throughout college, graduate school, and beyond.During his junior year of college at Evangel University in Springfield, MO he took on his first real leadership role. He was the intramural director for all men’s sports on campus. While earning his degree in Physical Education and fulfilling his duties as intramural director, he was approached by the university’s head softball coach. He invited Elijah to join his coaching staff as a student assistant after observing Elijah’s leadership of the intramural program. He spent 3 years with the program, spent one year at the high school level while student teaching, and continued his coaching career spending over 15 years coaching competitive softball.
While at Evangel, Elijah took a course in Sport Psychology. This immediately piqued his interest in personal development and performance enhancement. It was clear that parallels between participating in sports and in life. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he went on to Illinois State University to earn his master’s in Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity.
Combining his knowledge of fitness and his love for coaching, he became a personal trainer and continued coaching all over, including Illinois, New Jersey, Colorado, and finally back to Nebraska. Jump to 2019, he became a Maxwell Leadership Certified Trainer. In July of 2020 Elijah launched Rising Tide Leadership Development.
Since then, he has worked with local businesses and organizations to grow their leadership, improve their communication, and increase their productivity. His belief that everything rises and falls on leadership drives his efforts at Rising Tide. And, as the rising tide raises all the ships, he works alongside leaders to increase their leadership capacity in order to elevate teams, organizations, and communities.
